Coming from WoW, I find GW2 to be a huge, huge improvement. [Discussion] I'm not new to GW2. I played quite a bit of it, to the point I unlocked the Skyscale like the month it came out. But I haven't played since then. I resubbed to WoW last week, and I already uninstalled it. It's so boring.
The easiest beginner classes are warrior, ranger and necromancer. Choose the one that resonates with you the most. With that being said, each class is unique and has it's own pros and cons. Dont be afraid to choose a class that isn't "easy" and just go with what feels right to you. Every class is enjoyable to play. Try them out and ask questions

When gw2 was released almost all classes were sort of roaming tanky classes. They have added elite specs to give each class something more specific. For instance: a ranger can be a druid or a soulbeast. Druids are top of the line boon givers/healers. Soulbeast has an incredible burst. So you can do both with just ranger.
Dual swords aren't a terribly meta combination. You have four options, though: Mesmer is the top choice. Power Chrono is the only meta build that actively wants to run dual swords, and is a quite strong, though underplayed, DPS option that can also spec for Quickness support.
