As for Ranger as a starter class, the pet can make exploring the world on your first character pretty fun. Ranger also has one of the strongest downstates in the game, making it very forgiving if you die. I recommend it as a very good beginner class that is still top-tier once you reach endgame.
If you are giving sites out for newbies send them in the right direction. Those looking to raid will find outdated builds which will hinder their progress, have little info, no benchmarks, no rotations, no tips, no tricks, no videos showing benchmark (which helps a ton) etc. Same for fractals, your build varies depending on 150 vs 221 AR, different sigils, potions, food even.
Coming from WoW, I find GW2 to be a huge, huge improvement. [Discussion] I'm not new to GW2. I played quite a bit of it, to the point I unlocked the Skyscale like the month it came out. But I haven't played since then. I resubbed to WoW last week, and I already uninstalled it. It's so boring.
The easiest beginner classes are warrior, ranger and necromancer. Choose the one that resonates with you the most. With that being said, each class is unique and has it's own pros and cons. Dont be afraid to choose a class that isn't "easy" and just go with what feels right to you. Every class is enjoyable to play. Try them out and ask questions OP, this. Hizen's a master of soloing the hardest soloable content in the game (which includes OW champs and legendaries). However, his builds are purely that, they're built to self-sustain and self-buff during difficult content while maintaining acceptable damage. His builds generally won't be the quickest/most efficient at churning through swaths of weaker enemies (like lab running, f When gw2 was released almost all classes were sort of roaming tanky classes. They have added elite specs to give each class something more specific. For instance: a ranger can be a druid or a soulbeast. Druids are top of the line boon givers/healers. Soulbeast has an incredible burst. So you can do both with just ranger. Dual swords aren't a terribly meta combination. You have four options, though: Mesmer is the top choice. Power Chrono is the only meta build that actively wants to run dual swords, and is a quite strong, though underplayed, DPS option that can also spec for Quickness support. m3Nl.
