Far as I can tell, if I hadn't gone Deluxe, I would only have access to a regular copter with no weapons. I'm planning on getting the game, but I don't really see the point of spending more money on a few improvements. Is the gold edition worth it, or the base game will be just fine?

Gold edition is worth it since it comes with season pass and blood dragon, Ultimate edition is not since it just has a few extra skins, only buy it if youre a super fan. If you are not good on money right now, no, it isn't worth buying a game for 150$.
