The 1.5 Liter EcoBoost uses DAMB (Direct Acting Mechanical Bucket) valvetrain that has polished solid buckets or also called tappets. A low friction timing belt-in-oil drives the intake and exhaust camshafts. It also has a dynamic tensioner providing less noise and more efficient running reliability.

I just towed in a 2014 1.0 Ecoboost with 66,000 miles. Yes and no. All Mk3 Focus 1.0 are wet belts, all Mk4 Focus 1.0 are timing chain. In the Fiesta it is more complicated. The changeover was 2020 ish, but I haven't seen a definitive build date, it seems to vary a bit depending on model/output.

Another stupid design fault from Ford, who hires nothing but rule of McDonald's engineers, the very same that brought you the DCT transmission.
Just bought a 12 plate 1.0 125 Focus Titanium with 69k miles with FSH. No issues as of yet but interesting info after reading this 4 page thread in the Fiesta section !
