They say the car drawing .9amps is not unusual and the battery should cope with it. They suggested £250 for a replacement battery from them Got a replacement from the motor factors under warranty. They are not convinced it's the battery but agreed that if Citroen say the car is behaving as it should then this is the only thing it could be
The restart on these cars is achieved using the combined alternator/starter which starts using the alternator belt. An issue with this belt or the alternator/starter may result in symptoms as described. There was a recall for the belt tensioner on the 2.0HDi, and the failure of the tensioner may result in the failure of the belt.
Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds. Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.). Switch on the side lights through the drivers window. Switch on the ignition and check systems functionality. Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.
