The DLC’s for origins in my opinion are the best DLC’s in the series. Narratively hidden ones really stands out, and has my favourite mission in AC of all time (it’s such a shame because this dlc really showed what an ‘AC RPG’ could be like if they just followed that template for future games), and gameplay and visually curse of the pharaohs is incredible.

Most games offer a short piece of story DLC that barely hits the three-hour mark. However, there is a handful of lengthy DLC that considerably adds to your overall playthrough. With experiences offering perilous encounters with all-new villains and expansions that add entirely new areas for you to explore, these DLCs are absolutely worth your time.
Ultimate will provide the rest of the story DLC. - Golems of Amgarrak is about 1-2 hours in length, separate from the main campaign, with a very tough boss at the end. - Witch Hunt is about an hour; it concludes the witch Morrigan's story. - Leliana's Song is about 2 hours; provides some backstory to one of the game's companions.
There are some incredible locations in the Origins DLC that help make the content worthwhile. The Gold edition is absolutely the better value since it includes AC3 as well, but you’re right that if you aren’t going to play it, it’s not worth the extra money.
The extra content that came with the gold version definitely helps you out in the early game for sure. The game is so huge, it's not really necessary. You can always buy the season pass later. Season Pass content is excellent and adds dozens of hours of extra game play, so if you can afford it, go for it :)

Yes, if you are a fan of the series and you know that you will also want to do the dlcs even if you find some things you don’t like about the game.
